Serving Gwinnett County Since 2015

Rho Beta Sigma has worked hard to serve the Gwinnett Community. We have adopted Technology Parkway in Norcross as our monthly roadside clean-up commitment in west Gwinnett. We have also adopted Anderson-Livsey Elementary School in Snellville were we donate our time and funds to support the mentoring programs there.

Monthly Black Spend

We are committed to preserving the presence of black small businesses in the Gwinnett area. After each monthly chapter meeting, we gather and patronize a local black-owned business in the area.

National Programs

Education

The Rho Beta Sigma Alumni chapter focuses on the fraternity’s mission to promote scholarship, one of our core principles. We do this with partnerships in the Gwinnett school system by facilitating donations to support students and by raising money to issue scholarships. It doesn’t just stop there – we also promote scholarship among the brothers. Our education program is led by Brothers William Cooke and James Rayford.

Bigger and Better Business

As Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc’s first national program since 1924, Big and Better Business has been the driving force behind promoting black-owned enterprises and ensuring that our community is educated about the tools to establish great business acumen in a competitive business market. The fraternity currently promotes the Black Spend Initiative, and our brothers here at Rho Beta Sigma contribute thousands of dollars a month to this drive. Our goal is to ensure the black dollar circulates in the black community longer and stronger. Brothers Carl D Cook and Dana Thorpe lead these initiatives in our chapter.

Social Action

Social action in our fraternity has a long history through initiatives like civil rights, voting rights, and promoting the overall wellness of black people. Our mission today is to continue the legacy that our brothers before us have started. Our Honorable Brother Senator John Lewis said it best, “You must be bold, brave, and courageous and find a way to get in the way.” Our chapter’s social action mission is led by Brother Kien Hunter.
