On January 8, 2025, the men of the Rho Beta Sigma Alumni Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., participated in the sign recognition event at Anderson-Livsey Elementary School, their partner in the Adopt-A-School Program. Anderson-Livsey Principal Christopher Jackson renamed their Family Engagement Room the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Rho Beta Sigma Alumni Chapter Family Engagement Room.

Principal Jackson acknowledged the chapter’s work to support teaching and learning. Highlights include providing monthly Positive Behavior and Intervention Support (PBIS) student incentives, teacher appreciation gifts, a consistent presence in classrooms, a book exchange, and participating in several school events. Chapter President Christopher Pugh read a proclamation from Gwinnett County during the school’s morning announcements. The Georgia State Director of Education, Corey Sapp, provided support by attending the ceremony.

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., is the first Greek-letter organization to have a recognition sign in Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS), the state’s largest school system. Anderson-Livsey, which is in Snellville, Georgia, is the first school in the district to honor and recognize a Greek-letter organization.
